About the role
As a CBRE material handler you will perform general material handling activities including support movement of products and supplies in and around a laboratory setting at a pharmaceutical company. This could include chemicals, lab supplies, pressurized gas cylinders, and other duties.
Reports to Supervisor, Material Handling.
Responsibilities
- Timely and accurate movement of semi-finished and finished product, components, and label control material and production-related materials
- Pallet preparation
- Removal of wrap and corner boards
- Material staging area replenishment
- Wrapping of palletized product in preparation for shipment
- Daily inspections of forklifts, warehouse, cold rooms, and freezer
- Maintain up-to-date training status
- Follow all safety and environmental requirements in the performance of duties
- Ability to obtain and maintain up-to-date powered industrial truck certifications
- Trash removal
Safety
- Maintain and promote a best-in-class safety performance culture
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Maintain a clean and hazard-free work area
- Understand the operation, inspection, and daily maintenance of powered industrial trucks
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED with 2-3 years of job-related experience
- Physical requirements include stooping, standing, climbing, and frequent lifting of a minimum of 50 lbs
- Established understanding of work routines and standards, applying skills and knowledge in a range of processes, procedures, and systems
- Intermediate problem-solving skills with the capacity to review and select solutions from available options without supervisory approval
- Ability to explain detailed and complicated information within the team clearly and concisely
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Strong organizational skills with a robust inquisitive mindset
- General math skills, including the ability to calculate advanced figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
