Sr. Manufacturing Manager

This position manages and implements activities in the Print head manufacturing production areas at our Lebanon, NH facility to meet production goals, quality targets, and cost objectives.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prioritize production schedules for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift operations based on demand, equipment efficiency, and materials supply.
• Administer and ensure adherence to production process procedures.
• Coordinate activities with other operating groups.
• Make budgetary recommendations regarding expenditures and direct/indirect labor.
• Develop schedules and manpower requirements; select, develop, and evaluate personnel.
• Establish operational objectives, work plans, and delegate assignments to subordinates.
• Review performance against objectives to determine operational success.
• Develop, modify, and execute company policies affecting immediate operations and potentially company-wide.
• Create and publish metrics to measure and improve quality, productivity, scrap, on-time delivery, repair turn-around time, and expense control.
• Educate teams on troubleshooting techniques, statistical process control, and continuous improvement methodology.
• Implement comprehensive training requirements to certify employees for production activities.
• Coordinate support personnel in manufacturing engineering, material planning, scheduling, quality, and maintenance.
• Establish workmanship guidelines and ensure compliance with standards, procedures, and work rules.
• Communicate performance expectations and conduct periodic performance reviews.
• Assist employees in skill development and correct performance issues.
• Select and onboard new employees as needed.
• Promote and uphold company safety rules, including proper handling of chemicals and hazardous waste.
• May oversee the Equipment Technical Services Team (Maintenance).

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of related experience.
• 15 or more years of related manufacturing experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong administrative, budgetary, and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to perform technical manufacturing functions and train others.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP.
• Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma tools and practices.
• Ability to be trained in proper handling of chemicals and hazardous waste.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in print head, printer assembly, or related areas.
• Familiarity with tolerancing and statistics.
• Technical background in electromechanical systems and clean room experience.
• Understanding of environmental and OSHA standards.
• Experience with equipment maintenance and repair practices.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Manages Production Supervisors, Leads, Process Technicians, and Assembly Technicians.
• Oversees activities of two or more sections or departments, including costs, methods, and staffing.

Work Environment

• Manufacturing and clean room environment requiring gowning (smock/suit, hood, gloves, booties, safety glasses).
• Exposure to moderate noise levels and stored energy hazards (electricity, compressed gases).
• May require use of microscopes.
• Ability to interact with 3-shift operations as needed.

Physical Demands

• Standing or walking over two-thirds of the time.
• Frequent periods of sitting.
