Sr. Manufacturing Engineer - Welding

Engineering associated with the manufacturing process. Impacts approaches, projects, and programs in the functional area or affected business organization and ways of working. Impacts quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of own team. Has significant input into priorities. Guided by professional practices and policies shaped by the role. Moderate autonomy with high levels of operational judgment.

Responsibilities

• Primarily tactical responsibilities (excluding general administrative work).
• Develop specialized knowledge in discipline; serve as best practice/quality resource.
• Stay aware of latest technical developments in own area.
• Contribute toward strategy and policy development; ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
• Apply in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; understand competition and differentiating factors.
• Use judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in operational/product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering.
• Take new perspectives on existing solutions; use technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations.
• Use multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
• Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

• Welding Engineering Degree preferred.
• Significant experience with Inertia Welding.
• Experience with High Energy Density Welding (Laser and/or Electron Beam).
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
