Sr Manufacturing Engineer - Fixture & Part Movement
About the role
The Industrialization team is responsible to create, maintain, and execute the standard in how to develop and industrialize manufacturing processes using a team-based approach. This role sits within the Industrialization team and will lead development and improvement efforts around fixtures and part movement. With a heavy focus on safety and quality the role will lead technical development of connected processes, designing building and implementing standard fixture solutions, no lift solutions, machine loading/unloading, and overall part movement through production.
Responsibilities
- Utilize in-depth knowledge of technical disciplines, analytical thinking, and technical experience to execute policy/strategy and roadmap initiatives
- Execute hand offs for new product introductions, part and technology transfers, new process introductions, and strategic plant and equipment investments; inclusive of lead time, technology selection, tooling, fixturing, programming, quality plan, and run-off of initial production sets
- Execute hands-on development of new products and processes enabling a successful hand-off to the production team
- Manage project timelines to meet customer needs with a strong focus on safety, process quality, and internal customer needs
- Mentor and coach less experienced engineers across teams
- Strong ability to identify and eliminate waste while coaching others
- Engineering, standardizing, and optimizing manufacturing processes
- Incorporate lean manufacturing principles into process development
- Utilize kaizen activities for continuous improvement and collaborate with wider team on breakthrough initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) from an accredited university or college OR a High School diploma / GED with at least 4 years experience in a manufacturing or heavy equipment environment
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in Production Process and Equipment
Qualifications
- Strong background in fixture design
- Proficiency in NX and managing tooling/fixture programs
- Strong background in designing and building control systems
- Experience in fabrication and/or machining
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to influence others and lead small teams
- Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact
- Able to coordinate and manage several projects simultaneously
- Effective problem identification and solution skills
- Proven analytical and organizational ability
- Deep manufacturing technical expertise
- Has comprehensive knowledge of underlying principles, approaches, and methodology

Pay
The pay range for this position is between $104,600.00 and $174,400.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
