About the Role

As a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer, you will facilitate improvement projects and Kaizen (Rapid Continuous Improvement) events to eliminate waste and increase efficiencies in manufacturing processes, yield improvements, and cycle time improvements. This role requires a process-oriented mindset to analyze complex operations, implement strategic plans, provide project management support, and train employees.

Responsibilities

  • Lead continuous improvement efforts to achieve buy-in from employees and drive lasting change in plant safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Analyze production and transactional processes using problem-solving methodologies to identify root causes and develop solutions.
  • Apply best practices to improve existing processes across all relevant products and product lines.
  • Collect and analyze data using statistical methods and present results to multidisciplinary teams.
  • Collaborate with production managers and operations personnel to execute plans for improving product yields, cycle time, workflow, and efficiency.
  • Train and mentor employees in lean manufacturing and quality system concepts.
  • Develop, document, and sustain Standard Work practices.
  • Work closely with internal upstream and downstream customers to enhance overall processes.
  • Provide technical support to all aspects of operations and manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • BS/MS in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering preferred.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in the storage component, server, and hard drives industry.
  • 2+ years of experience in equipment/machine maintenance and basic knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLC).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, including operators, supervisors, and technicians.
  • Knowledgeable in statistical quality control and design of experiments.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and thick film processing is a plus.
  • Active learner with the ability to bring new insights to manufacturing process improvements.

Physical Requirements and Work Conditions

  • Able to stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and carry items for extended periods, including entire shifts.
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 40 lbs; use a "buddy system" for objects over 50 lbs.
  • Operate pallet jacks and forklifts efficiently and safely (where applicable).
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), such as safety shoes and earmuffs.
  • Primarily works indoors in a climate-controlled environment.
  • Regular in-office attendance is required; candidates should be prepared to commute to the designated office location.

Pay

Salary range: $100,000 - $150,000. The offered salary will depend on factors such as location, education, training, skills, and experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for bonuses and equity awards.
