About the role

The role involves developing comprehensive manufacturing processes for 3D metal parts used in various radar, integrated sensor, and effector programs. It includes defining materials, developing workholding solutions, creating multi-axis CNC machining programs, developing inspection plans, and creating process instructions for operators.

Responsibilities

  • Translate engineering design requirements into formal manufacturing process documentation including raw material definition, fixturing/tooling development, CNC programming, inspection planning, finishing requirements, and assembly instructions
  • Support process improvements using data analysis, application of best practices, and by implementing innovative solutions to improve process capability and decrease cost
  • Design, control, and improve the manufacturing process through collaboration with a multi-disciplined team
  • Perform process development on new product introductions with an accelerated time to market
  • Optimize CNC programs using machining modeling and analysis tools to identify inefficiencies and apply new techniques
  • Integrate automated solutions for part handling and in-machine work holding
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and document standard methodologies and standard work for CNC machining
  • Review metrology and statistical process control (SPC) data to identify and address potential defects before they occur
  • Validate NC programs using CGTech Vericut and Cimco Edit
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues alongside Quality and Operations personnel and apply CORE/6-sigma methods to determine Root Cause and apply Corrective Actions

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and a minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience
  • Knowledge of high-speed machining techniques, cutting tools, and CNC machine tool capabilities
  • Able to correctly interpret engineering drawings, including Geometric Dimensions and Tolerances
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications

  • CNC programming experience for machines with 4 or more axes
  • ICAM post-processor development
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Creo CAD/CAM Software
  • Process familiarity with paint, plating, and structural assembly
  • Results-oriented focus on past projects to evaluate success
  • Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude
  • Knowledge and ability to apply CORE principles and techniques
  • Active DoD Security Clearance

Pay

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
