Responsibilities

  • Lead Strategic Crane Nuclear growth initiatives with multi-brand/product involvement.
  • Support 3 to 5 year Strategy Planning Process through market segmentation, customer needs analysis, competitive comparisons to identify areas of high potential top line and operating income growth.
  • Support the VPGMs to define strategies for maximum growth capacity with new markets, technologies, new product initiatives, and business models.
  • Support the development of Marketing’s best practices to create effective value propositions and sales tools that are practical to use and aligned to segmentation and regional specific requirements; ensure full alignment with the Sales organization.
  • Proactively interact cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing Communications, IT, Finance, and other functions to communicate routinely on key strategies, growth initiatives, and tools.
  • Evaluate market research to define the current state position regarding products, quality, customer service, etc., and identify areas for improvement.
  • Drive pricing excellence initiatives and actions with each brand routinely, championing the greater utilization of full pricing levers, data analytics, productivity pipelines, and other linkages to SIOP, VA/VE, and market intelligence to maximize profitable growth for Crane Nuclear.
  • Partner with the President and VPGM Leadership teams to understand and develop strategic direction for acquisition priorities.
  • Define merger, acquisition, divestment, and alliance strategy within the parameters of the business.
  • Develop and deploy a robust acquisition pipeline process, leveraging solutions priorities.
  • Work with VPGM Leadership teams to plan ongoing outreach programs to develop relationships with targets.
  • Identify and screen potential acquisition targets, support target identification activities, and help manage input to the corporate acquisition radar.
  • Work with Crane Nuclear leadership to evaluate opportunities.
  • Contact and pursue targeted companies consistent with Crane acquisition policy.
  • Screen, analyze, and develop a strong business case for each acquisition, including quantitative support for annual operating plans and investment activities.
  • Support operational due diligence, including market strength, technology analyses, competitive position, and operational effectiveness to validate growth and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Lead/support financial due diligence, including current and projected performance expectations and financial transaction modeling.
  • Lead/support valuation modeling and provide valuation expertise to business leadership.
  • Lead/support internal preparation process for divestitures from start to finish.
  • Lead/support communications with President & CEO, CFO, Sr. VP, VP, General Counsel & Secretary, VP Business Development & Strategy, VP Investor Relations, and Director Corporate Development. Communications are expected to be proactive, timely, open, and collaborative.
  • Lead business unit teams to manage the transaction process to ensure proper due diligence and integration.
  • Ensure appropriate focus on and commitment to acquisition integration and seamless transition.
  • Support identification of the appropriate Integration team.
  • Support the development of the “dis-integration” plan for divestitures and the development of the transition services agreement.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in strategy consulting firms or comparable Strategy role in a corporation, post MBA.
  • Experience working in a consulting environment.
  • Demonstrated full-cycle experience in the acquisition process, including identifying and researching the target, serving as the contact between the companies, and leading the integration.
  • At least 3 years of experience before MBA, ideally in Industrials or an adjacent industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; undergraduate degree in an Engineering or Science discipline preferred.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Product knowledge and/or industry experience.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively build key relationships.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Ability to create presentations and build spreadsheets/models.
  • High energy level combined with a passion for business.
