About the role

Ingram Micro is seeking a Sr. Manager, Software Development to lead and supervise engineering teams globally. This role involves overseeing the deployment of digital transformation products and ensuring the quality and lifecycle management of software projects.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and communicate the vision for each product and deliver business value through quality products.
  • Ensure adherence to architectural requirements and methodologies, and guide the evolution of Ingram Micro’s digital ecosystem.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business leaders, product managers, and scrum masters to facilitate smooth sprint execution.
  • Engage in strategic planning sessions with product management, architecture, and design teams, and collaborate with business users in the U.S. and Canada.
  • Partner with business teams in Toronto and Ontario, Canada, and Buffalo, New York, USA, to execute the company's strategy.
  • Lead cross-departmental relationships and foster a culture of innovation, excellence, and servant leadership.
  • Collaborate with HR to recruit, train, and mentor professionals, manage hiring, salary decisions, and performance reviews.
  • Advocate for a DevOps mindset and ensure accountability for the product lifecycle from inception to sunset.
  • Evaluate and identify high-impact AI use cases, assess model performance, and integrate LLM platforms like Gemini, Claude, and Microsoft Copilot.
  • Translate customer and business needs into technical solutions, and manage multiple activities in parallel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 12+ years of software engineering experience, including building modular or headless applications at scale.
  • 7+ years of leadership experience in engineering or similar technical leadership roles.
  • Experience with architectural design recommendations and guidance.
  • Proven experience leading the design, development, delivery, and maintenance of large-scale and high-performance platforms.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum environments and release management and deployment workflow processes.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented code, C++, C#, Python, PostgreSQL, Front End Web, Web Services, SQL/No SQL Databases, event-driven microservices, Microfrontends, SPAs, and integrations tools like Mulesoft/Tibco/Workato.
  • Strong understanding of modern AI technologies, including large language models (LLMs), generative AI, NLP, and computer vision, with practical application through platforms like Gemini/Claude/Copilot.
  • Experience in several areas such as serverless environments, database architecture, ETL, business intelligence, big data, machine learning, advanced analytics, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code.
  • Strong people management skills to mentor and guide individual team members.
  • Specialized knowledge of APIs, 3rd Party Systems, Legacy Systems (SAP), and integration with modern-day SaaS solutions.
