About the role

The Manager of Strategic Sourcing plays a crucial role in developing global sourcing strategies that drive cost reductions, introduce alternative suppliers, and ensure business continuity within Alcon's Surgical Franchise.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute annual Marketing Plans across the portfolio
• Develop and drive strategic sourcing initiatives that offer cost savings, introduce alternative suppliers, and provide business continuity
• Identify and present savings business cases for alternative sources not limited to resins, molded components, chemicals, electro-mechanical, capital equipment and metals
• Apply data analytics to identify trends within spend data to identify new opportunities and projects
• Responsible for site budgeting, spend variances and project management in coordination with MST team
• Develop and present business cases to SLT to secure buy-in on various insourcing strategies and projects

Requirements/Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school+15 yrs. Assoc.+11 yrs.; M.S.+4 yrs.; PhD+3 yrs.)
• The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
• 7 Years of Relevant Experience

Preferred requirements

• Ability to foster strong relationships, both internally and externally
• Strong analytical skills to influence budgeting and pricing options
• Experience in Strategic Sourcing with demonstrated ability to develop global sourcing strategies
• Demonstrated experience building and managing regional and global RFPs
• Ability to negotiate complex supply agreements and third-party engagements
• Strong analytical ability within excel, SAP, Power BI, Alteryx, and PowerPoint
• Demonstrated experience within Direct Materials (injection molding, devices, metals, chemicals)
• Experience working with ambiguity and driving results
