Sr Manager, Procurement

About the Role

Negotiates favorable terms, volume discounts, and long-term contracts with suppliers. Prepares and processes requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of goods, services, and supplies for customer-related business processes or internal use. Manages professional employees and/or supervisors, with accountability for the performance and results of a team. Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges. Provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues, and/or customers.

Responsibilities

  • Manages procurement and purchasing operations, implementing strategies to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing.
  • Maintains strategic supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, and implements systems for monitoring performance, assessing risk, and responding to supply chain disruptions.
  • Collaborates with other functions to define current and future inventory requirements and manage inventory levels.
  • Implements processes and systems, utilizing technical tools to analyze data and increase responsiveness to material demands.
  • Oversees auditing processes to ensure procurement and recordkeeping comply with applicable industry or governmental regulations.
  • Leads and manages the work of other employees, including hiring, performance management, and termination (with HR and General Managers' concurrence).

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree and 7-8 years of experience OR equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Leadership, decision-making, oral and written communication, analytical thinking, and detail-oriented skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods.
  • Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

Schedule

No or very little travel likely.
