Responsibilities
- Oversee audit, review, and compilation engagements from initial planning to final report issuance, ensuring strict compliance with GAAP, GAAS, and SSARS standards.
- Direct specialized assurance engagements for HUD projects, Employee Benefit Plans (EBPs), non-profit organizations, and privately held corporations.
- Review engagement workpapers, draft financial statements, and technical reports, delivering constructive coaching that sharpens the team's technical capabilities.
- Manage engagement economics, including scope, risk assessments, scheduling, and billing, while serving as the primary advisor to key client stakeholders.
- Mentor and evaluate senior auditors and staff, fostering a collaborative culture and supporting individual career progression.
- Drive firm growth by leading business development initiatives, writing proposals, expanding existing client relationships, and representing the firm in the community.
- Partner with internal tax and consulting practices to deliver unified, full-service solutions to clients.
- Enforce firm-wide quality control policies and monitor evolving regulatory, accounting, and auditing standards.
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive public accounting experience in audit and assurance.
- 5+ years of dedicated experience auditing HUD-assisted properties, Employee Benefit Plans, or Non-Profit organizations.
- Active CPA license.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related business field.
- Proven track record of managing team workflows and overseeing multiple complex engagements concurrently.
- Deep technical command of US GAAP, GAAS, SSARS, and internal quality control frameworks.
- Proficiency with industry-standard audit software (e.g., CCH ProSystem fx Engagement or CaseWare).
Skills
- Master's degree in Accounting or MBA (nice to have).
- Proven background in practice development and pitch presentations for prospect acquisition (nice to have).
