Sr. Manager, Optical Product Management
Job Summary
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Define and execute product strategy and roadmap for optical/photonics product lines.
- Lead cross-functional teams including R&D, engineering, operations, and sales to deliver products on schedule and within budget.
- Conduct market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and customer requirement gathering.
- Translate customer and system requirements into detailed product specifications.
- Manage product lifecycle from concept through end-of-life.
- Drive business case development, pricing strategy, and margin optimization.
- Work closely with key sales and partners on technical alignment and qualifications.
- Support customer escalations and resolve technical or commercial issues.
- Mentor and develop product management team members.
Qualifications
- Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Photonics, Physics, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 8–10+ years of experience in optical, photonics, or high-speed interconnect product management or development.
- Strong understanding of optical modules, fiber optics, signal integrity, and data center applications.
- Experience with hyperscale, AI, or high-performance computing markets preferred.
- Proven leadership and cross-functional project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Mandarin proficiency is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with optical transceivers (e.g., 400G/800G/1.6T).
- Familiarity with industry standards (IEEE, OIF, MSA).
- Experience working with global suppliers and manufacturing partners.
Pay
Salary Range: $160,000 - $220,000
The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
