About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Sr. Manager, Data Platform Engineering & Operations to join the team of a leader in the Retail & Consumer Goods space. This role will oversee the engineering and operational health of the data platform, ensuring the underlying infrastructure is reliable, scalable, and cost‑efficient. The position will shape technical strategy and implementation choices while partnering with internal stakeholders to improve workflows and strengthen production support. It is an opportunity to lead global teams and drive data platform initiatives that support better business performance and operational excellence.

Location: Remote – US‑based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.

Compensation

$205,171 – $233,700 annually

Responsibilities

• Oversee platform engineering and operations of data infrastructure
• Decide on technical stacks and implementation strategies
• Enhance data pipeline reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency
• Drive strategic initiatives for workflow improvement
• Lead global teams focused on data platforms and operations

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred
• 4 years in data operations, engineering, or analytics roles, or 6 years with a Bachelor's degree
• 2 years leading technical teams
• Expertise in SQL, Python, and data engineering frameworks like dbt
• Experience with production support processes and incident management
• Knowledge of platform scalability and operational efficiency
