Sr. Manager, Commodity Purchasing

About the role
The Commodity Manager role is primarily focused on strategic activities within procurement, including development of commodity strategies, contract negotiations, program sourcing decisions, and driving value and cost reductions. This role is responsible for selecting qualified Electromechanical suppliers and related services in accordance with company and corporate policies. The Commodity Manager leads the Commodity Team in the region and supports the Global Commodity Team.
Responsibilities
- Develop Commodity Strategies that support overall business objectives and drive value and cost savings.
- Utilize sound negotiation and value analysis skills to reduce overall costs and meet or exceed annual cost objectives.
- Responsible for final negotiation and approval for all sourcing in region and presentation to the Global Sourcing Committee.
- Source in accordance with company and corporate policies and procedures.
- Maintain and promote sound relationships with suppliers and the business community through strict adherence to the Global Code of Conduct.
- Continually monitor regulations, laws, and market conditions that might impact product availability, strategy, and pricing.
- Participate in special analysis and projects as required.
- Lead and support cross-functional teams collaboratively to achieve results.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required – preference for Supply Chain Management or Engineering Degree.
- MBA preferred.
- 5–10 years of business experience, including 3–5 years in a relevant Electromechanical-related role (e.g., strategic negotiation and sourcing).
- Proven experience in supplier negotiations, comprehensive understanding of commercial terms and conditions related to procurement of goods and services, and supply contracts.
- Experience in a multicultural environment.
