About the role
Leads a large team of experienced Commodity/Account Management and Strategic Sourcing professionals or team leaders, overseeing execution of key elements of supply chain strategy. Develops supplier standards and networks in support of the organization's standards for price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply. Establishes strategy for supplier selection and negotiations to achieve productivity and supplier resiliency targets.
Responsibilities
- Lead category management activities for Electromechanical spend (focus on control boxes).
- Establish elements of commodity/account management and strategic sourcing plans.
- Develop supply chain standards and networks addressing capacity issues, production location decisions, and other strategic factors.
- Approve supplier selection to meet organizational standards for price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply.
- Establish strategy for negotiating awards contracts, specifying spending limits and qualified sources of supply.
- Partner with internal clients and stakeholders to identify sourcing needs.
- Review and recommend supply markets to source best practices.
- Direct negotiations with suppliers and analyze suppliers' operations to determine factors affecting prices.
- Determine the lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 7+ years of experience with Direct Materials Strategic Sourcing.
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time domestically and internationally as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in category management, specifically with components such as sensors, switches, power components, and control boxes.
- Demonstrated success in global strategic sourcing, supplier development, and long-term contract negotiations within a manufacturing environment.
- Advanced analytical skills with ability to conduct cost modeling, total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis, and market benchmarking.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders across engineering, operations, quality, and finance.
- Experience managing global supplier networks, including capacity planning, risk mitigation, and production footprint optimization.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP/Oracle).
- Strong knowledge of supply chain best practices, including supplier performance management and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean/Six Sigma certification preferred).
Pay
The annual salary for this position is between $117,500.00 and $234,500.00. Factors affecting pay within this range include skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
