Sr Manager, AV Behavior Safety Engineering (GPSSC)

For our client, we are seeking a Sr Manager, AV Behavior Safety Engineering (GPSSC) to join the team of a leader in the Manufacturing & Automotive space. This leader will shape safety strategy for autonomous driving behavior and help define the standards that support launch readiness for advanced vehicle programs. The role will partner closely with engineering, validation, and program teams to assess performance, strengthen assurance processes, and guide safety-focused decision-making. You will also build and lead a high-performing team focused on behavior safety engineering for autonomous vehicle development. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $250,600 – $384,600 annually Responsibilities Lead strategy development for safety standards in autonomous driving systems Own the behavior-focused portion of the ADS Safety Case and safety performance metrics Collaborate on defining AV behavior validation methodologies across teams Set strategies for validating performance against Operational Design Domains (ODDs) Assess AV performance and provide targeted feedback to engineering teams Run assurance processes to verify safety criteria and support launch readiness Hire and develop a high-performing AV behavior safety engineering team Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field 8+ years of experience in machine learning, engineering, data science, or a related field 8+ years in autonomous vehicle or robotics development Proven track record on production-intent AV programs Demonstrated safety leadership in AV development, including risk assessments and validation methodologies Deep understanding of AV behavior development and data analysis for validation 3+ years of people leadership experience, including team development and management Benefits Variety of health and wellbeing benefit programs including medical, dental, and vision coverage Health Savings Account and Flexible Spending Accounts Retirement savings plan and life insurance Paid vacation and holidays, plus tuition assistance Employee assistance program and vehicle discounts Opportunity to participate in a company vehicle evaluation program Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
