Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and manages equipment master data and the work order system.
  • Organizes all equipment technical information for ease of accessibility in the CMMS and for data protection in the archival system (PDM Vault).
  • Creates and maintains Equipment Parts Lists (EPL) for all equipment.
  • Collaborates with Reliability Engineering on the development of operating context-specific PM’s & PdM’s.
  • Converts Work Requests to Work Orders, creates Work Orders, and ensures WO coding is accurate and the status is up-to-date.
  • Identifies all WOs requiring short and long-duration downtime.
  • Manages the work order backlog to ensure work progresses through the planning process in a timely manner and in accordance with the PM system master schedule.
  • Work Planning:
    • Develops a sequenced set of work instructions for all WOs where Planning can add value.
    • Lists all required permits and identifies any special safety work instructions.
    • Identifies all required parts, supplies, tools, and equipment, and provides specifications to assist purchasing in meeting expectations.
    • Maintains 3 to 5 weeks of ready backlog.
    • Manages the WO feedback process to drive job plan continuous improvement in safety instructions, work instructions, and other identified maintenance resources required to execute the job.
    • Generates follow-up work orders identified in the WO feedback process, including condition-based WOs and other related observations from technicians in the field.
  • Resource Management:
    • Monitors, justifies, and categorizes maintenance stores inventory to ensure parts remain consistent with equipment modifications. Submits Add-To-Inventory forms as necessary.
    • Facilitates ease of part identification by creating accurate Equipment Parts Lists (EPLs) for all equipment and removes obsolete parts from both the EPL and the MRO Warehouse.
    • Coordinates with the warehouse to kit and stage identified parts and supplies.
    • Requisitions parts, supplies, and equipment to ensure availability coincides with work schedules.
    • Assists in the expedition of critical parts for planned work and at critical times to support breakdown activities.
    • Provides notification to supervision when repairable parts must be tagged and returned to the warehouse.
    • Ensures proper accounts are identified on all WOs.
  • Develops and maintains weekly, shutdown, and long-range schedules.
  • Ensures that weekly schedules comply with the PM and PdM master schedule.
  • Coordinates maintenance schedules with production schedules to ensure equipment health and capacity safely support long-term production requirements.
  • Conducts related planning meetings.
  • Completes/closes work orders and captures pertinent information as needed.
  • Turnaround Scheduling/Critical Path Management:
    • Manages the short and long-duration downtime ready backlog for the respective area of responsibility.
    • Ensures all downtime-required WOs are fully planned and coordinated in preparation for turnaround events.
    • Generates capital requests for downtime-related WOs.
    • Identifies all resources required for effective turnaround execution.
    • Provides turnaround cost management, including estimate vs. actual comparison.
    • Organizes all turnaround work in a Gantt Chart format outlining the work critical path and resource allocation requirements.
    • Evaluates turnaround schedule duration to optimize downtime vs. resource costs decision-making.
  • Long Range Planning:
    • Manages the Major Maintenance Forecast to outline equipment repair intervals and identify future MOB capital requirements.
    • Develops the scope of work for capital repairs and submits Capital Authorization Requests (CARs) in a timely manner.
    • Makes recommendations to project engineering for capital modifications.
    • Assists maintenance management in developing and monitoring the expense budget.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Journeyman license or equivalent experience in Electrical and/or Mechanical trades.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 7-10 years’ experience in electrical and/or mechanical trades.
  • Maintenance supervisory or equivalent experience required.
