Sr. Level Software Developer

OASYS, INC., a leading-edge government contractor in Huntsville, Alabama, is seeking a Sr. Level Software Developer to support our DoD customer on Redstone Arsenal.

About the role

The Sr. Level Software Engineer will work closely with a highly technical team of product managers, systems and software engineers, and scientists developing advanced software capabilities and technical solutions for a mission planning system.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and implement state-of-the-art software/systems platforms and integration components to support building secure, high-performing web applications and systems integration components addressing complex and evolving mission planning requirements within a high-velocity Agile environment.
• Analyze user software program needs and assist in troubleshooting.
• Design and develop software using basic compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
• Implement pillars of DevSecOps to mature Continuous Integration, Delivery, and Deployment (CI/CD) workflows.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software design experience.
• Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, or other web technologies/services.
• Understanding of basic software design based on Object-Oriented Programming principles.
• Knowledge/experience with application programming interfaces.
• Experience with current operating systems and development tools (e.g., JIRA, BitBucket).
• Ability to interact effectively with individuals of different experience levels and backgrounds, including government and external industry personnel.
• Good understanding of or experience with Vue or other modern frameworks like React or Angular.
• Experience using a development environment such as VSCode.
• Understanding of Git or other code version control tools.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or other STEM discipline. Years of experience may be substituted for a degree.

Candidates must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance. An active Secret Clearance is highly desired.
