Sr. Legal Counsel, Commercial Americas

For our client, a leader in the Retail & Consumer Goods space, we are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to provide business-aligned guidance focused on governance, compliance, and operational risk management. This role partners with leaders, compliance stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate complex issues into practical recommendations, strengthening responsible execution and supporting sustainable growth in a consumer-facing environment.

Location: New York, NY – US-based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial and vendor agreements
• Stay updated on emerging legal and regulatory developments and provide strategic guidance
• Collaborate on technology contract reviews and data security assessments
• Proactively identify and mitigate complex contractual risks for internal clients
• Provide strategic support on litigation related to commercial disputes
• Develop and lead training on legal tools and resources for business teams
• Champion and embody the company’s Group values

Qualifications

• J.D. from a leading law school
• Member of at least one state bar in good standing (NY preferred)
• Minimum 7 years of commercial transactional experience in multi-jurisdictional environments
• Proven expertise in drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts
• Experience preferred in retail or consumer products industries
• Familiarity with e-commerce, digital platforms, and data privacy
• Strong ability to integrate legal and business solutions effectively

Pay

$200,000 – $215,000 annually
