About the role

The Sr. Lead Analyst, Merchant role serves as a strategic thought partner to Merchant leadership and key business stakeholders. This role goes beyond reporting on historical performance; you will deliver proactive, data-driven insights and actionable recommendations that influence business strategy and optimize portfolio performance.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary analytical "North Star" for Merchant executive leadership, translating complex data into high-stakes business strategy and actionable investment cases.
  • Architect and evangelize a long-term analytical roadmap that anticipates the needs of the Merchant and Loan portfolios, ensuring data capabilities scale ahead of business growth.
  • Institutionalize data-driven decisioning by building predictive and prescriptive modeling to elevate merchant operations and loan management.
  • Establish the "Golden Source" for all Merchant KPIs, owning the health, profitability, and risk frameworks that guide Sunbit's core business engine.
  • Optimize the ecosystem by designing and overseeing sophisticated experimentation frameworks (A/B testing, incrementality, and elasticity modeling) to maximize associate engagement and merchant lifecycle value.
  • Strategically prioritize analytical resources, balancing immediate operational needs with long-term scalable solutions that de-risk the merchant journey.
  • Lead high-level collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Business leadership to ensure the data infrastructure is robust enough to serve the analytical needs of the organization.
  • Engineer automated, high-fidelity monitoring systems that proactively identify friction points in the merchant funnel, ensuring a seamless operational experience at scale.
  • Provide guidance and professional development to senior-level analysts, fostering a culture of technical excellence and business-first thinking.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant analytical experience with a bachelor’s degree or a master’s degree in quantitative fields like Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, etc.
  • Expert proficiency in SQL and other languages like Python/R.
  • Strong understanding of Data governance principles.
  • Proficiency in leveraging BI tools like Tableau/Sigma to support business operations and executive storytelling.
  • Expert at distilling complex analytical findings into simple yet compelling narratives.

Qualifications

  • Master’s the "80/20" at Scale: You know when to dive deep into data and when to move fast and right-size solutions.

Skills

  • Strategic Architect: You don't just build dashboards; you build frameworks that change how a business operates.
  • Executive-Ready: You can present to a CEO or Board of Directors with clarity, confidence, and a "so-what" focused mindset.
  • Ownership: You take full accountability for the Merchant data domain, from the integrity of the pipelines to the accuracy of the insights.

Pay

We are targeting a salary of $160,000 - $190,000 per year for this role.

Schedule

This role is Hybrid in our Westwood Office, 3 days/week.
