- Develop and enhance secure, reliable backend services that process provider data accurately and align with enterprise engineering standards.
- Review and refactor existing applications to improve maintainability, modularity, observability, and release quality.
- Partner with product owners and business analysts to translate provider-domain requirements into clear technical designs for claims processing, eligibility checks, and provider lifecycle management.
- Lead integrations with internal and external systems through well-defined APIs, consistent data exchange, robust error handling, and adherence to security policies.
- Define testing strategies with quality engineering teams, including unit, integration, and contract testing.
- Investigate production issues using logs, metrics, and distributed tracing, and implement sustainable fixes that strengthen platform stability.
- Optimize database queries, data models, and service interactions to improve throughput and latency for high-volume transactions in hybrid-cloud environments.
- Promote DevOps practices, including automated builds, containerization, and continuous delivery, to streamline release cycles.
- Mentor engineers on microservices architecture, Java design patterns, Spring Boot configuration, and clean coding practices.
- Document technical designs, service interfaces, and deployment procedures to support maintenance, knowledge sharing, and audit readiness.
- Collaborate with operations, compliance, support, and other stakeholders to ensure technical decisions align with regulatory requirements and user-experience goals.
- Evaluate relevant tools, frameworks, and architectural patterns, and recommend practical improvements to platform resilience, scalability, and sustainability.
Requirements

- Strong understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful API design, and backend engineering principles.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, messaging systems, and enterprise integrations.
- Proficiency with build tools, testing frameworks, version control, and automated delivery pipelines.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex production issues using monitoring, log analysis, tracing, and performance-tuning techniques.
- Strong communication, technical leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Qualifications
- Experience with healthcare provider operations, including onboarding, credentialing, directory management, data validation, claims, eligibility, or provider lifecycle processes.
- Experience developing and operating solutions in hybrid-cloud environments.
- Experience introducing engineering practices that reduce incidents and accelerate delivery.
