Position SummaryThe company is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, IT Systems Operations to lead and evolve the strategy, architecture, and operational excellence of its enterprise technology ecosystem. This leader will be responsible for building and scaling a high-performing team while driving the long-term vision for enterprise infrastructure, cloud services, systems reliability, automation, and operational maturity. As a senior leader within IT, this individual will establish strategic direction, influence technology investments, and partner closely with Engineering, Security, Workplace Services, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, resilient, and scalable services that support company growth. This role requires balancing hands-on technical leadership with organizational development, serving as both a technical authority and people leader while creating an environment that enables innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. This role requires a leader who can translate business objectives into technology strategy, build strong cross-functional partnerships, develop future leaders, and drive transformational initiatives across the enterprise. Key ResponsibilitiesOrganizational Leadership & StrategyDefine and execute the strategic roadmap for enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, systems operations, and service reliability in alignment with company objectives.Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, innovation, and continuous learning.Build organizational capability through succession planning, talent development, workforce planning, and scalable operational processes.Establish and monitor key operational metrics, service level objectives (SLOs), and performance indicators to drive measurable improvements in reliability, efficiency, and user experience.Influence executive stakeholders and technology leaders by providing data-driven recommendations on infrastructure investments, risk management, and operational priorities. Technical Leadership & ArchitectureProvide technical leadership for the design, evolution, and governance of enterprise infrastructure, hybrid and multi-cloud environments, networking, identity systems, and operational tooling.Drive architectural decisions that improve scalability, resiliency, security, and operational efficiency across enterprise services.Champion automation-first approaches that reduce operational overhead, improve service delivery, and enhance system reliability.Partner with Security and Engineering leaders to ensure enterprise systems align with organizational security, compliance, and governance requirements.Serve as an escalation point for critical incidents, guiding resolution efforts and driving root cause analysis and long-term corrective actions. Operational ExcellenceOwn the availability, reliability, and performance of enterprise-wide services and infrastructure, ensuring operational readiness and business continuity.Lead the maturation of monitoring, observability, incident management, change management, and problem management practices.Establish scalable operational frameworks that support a growing, distributed workforce and evolving technology landscape.Drive continuous improvement initiatives through process optimization, knowledge management, automation, and operational analytics.Institutionalize modern engineering and IT practices, including Agile methodologies, infrastructure-as-code, peer review, documentation standards, and cross-functional collaboration. Cross-Functional PartnershipCollaborate with leaders across Engineering, Security, Finance, Legal, People Operations, and Workplace Services to align technology capabilities with business priorities.Manage vendor relationships, strategic technology partnerships, and service providers to maximize value and operational effectiveness.Lead large-scale infrastructure and transformation initiatives from planning through execution, ensuring successful adoption and measurable business outcomes. Required Qualifications10+ years of progressive experience in systems engineering, infrastructure operations, cloud technologies, or related disciplines.5+ years of experience leading and developing high-performing technical teams, including experience managing managers and senior technical contributors.Demonstrated success defining and executing technology strategy for complex enterprise environments.Deep expertise in Linux/Unix systems administration, automation, cloud platforms, networking, observability, and modern infrastructure architectures.Experience leading large-scale operational initiatives, infrastructure transformations, and enterprise technology modernization efforts.Strong business acumen with the ability to align technical decisions to organizational objectives and financial considerations.Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills. Preferred QualificationsExperience leading enterprise environments operating across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.Expertise with infrastructure-as-code, configuration management, and cloud-native operational practices.Experience implementing and scaling Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), observability, or platform engineering functions.Knowledge of enterprise security frameworks, compliance requirements, and risk management practices.Experience managing budgets, vendor relationships, and strategic technology investments.Proven ability to influence organizational change and drive adoption of new technologies and operating models.
