Sr. Investment Operations Analyst

About the role

The Senior Investment Operations Analyst will provide overall day-to-day investment operations support to the Company’s Investment Portfolio Managers, traders, and Finance department. The primary responsibilities of this position include the back and middle office functions of investment operations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure data quality in trade order management system and downstream systems by providing oversight and review to trade entry and reconciliation processes.
• Prepare various reports, including trade activity summary in support of monthly Investment Committee package; alternative asset transactions; daily asset allocation and end-of-day trade file notifications; daily extended cash forecast; and ad hoc corporate action reporting.
• Ensure the timely settlement of non-standard securities transactions, including physical settlement of private placements, free receive and delivers vs. cash wires for bank loans, and security payment orders (SPO’s) for factor updates. Oversee all trade settlements, including electronic (Deliver vs. Payment and Receive vs. Payment).
• Ensure all voluntary corporate actions have elections made timely, either by internal or external managers, and verify that all elections have been provided to the custodian on or before the expiration date. Monitor to ensure corporate actions are processed properly by the custodian and reflected in the trade order management system.
• Participate in special projects, support internal/external audit requests, assist the Investment Accounting team with identifying unapplied wires and open payables/receivables, process asset transfers, and handle other ad hoc requests. Act as backup for Derivatives Operations and Investment Operations.
• Look at policies and processes and provide recommendations for improvement and automation. Use technology to automate repetitive tasks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5–8 years of cumulative, relevant experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrates attention to detail while being analytically oriented.
• Ability to multi-task and work both independently and in a team environment.
• High level of motivation, initiative, and results-focused mindset.
• Versatility and flexibility to assist with coverage of other team members.
• Strong technology focus with experience in Bloomberg or other trade order management systems.
• Experience with Simcorp Dimension or other investment accounting systems.
• Good Excel skills and experience with PowerBI or similar reporting applications.
• Previous experience working with investments including fixed income, alternative assets, loans, and/or derivatives.
• Occasional nights and weekends may be required.

This is a remote role with required travel to the Farmington, CT office for in-person events a few times per year.

Pay

Salary Range: $99,700 – $134,800 plus eligibility for annual bonus program.
