Sr Intl Doc Agent
About the role
Ensures the efficient movement and clearance of import/export freight in compliance with established regulations and procedures for any international import/export freight which includes freight held "in-bond" per customers' request for broker-select clearance option. Provides training and technical expertise to IDAs. Prepares international shipments for customs clearance, follows import procedures, verifies and corrects shipment details to ensure accurate and timely delivery.
Responsibilities
- Provides accurate information and assistance to customers, which includes responding to inquiries and problem resolution, such as ability to resolve and correct manifests, OVRGs, Shortages, etc.
- Provide Training, guidance, Job Aids and Expertise to IDAs.
- Maintaining organized records of all documentation and ensuring proper storage and retrieval.
- Review/enter info from manifest into appropriate system.
- Review bonded freight that has not cleared customs via CIM and CCII system.
- Review manifest for overage/shortage in CCII and CIM system and correct when needed.
- Return uncleared bonded freight to customer if freight is not cleared after being notified from FTN.
- Research, address, and resolve problem shipments by utilizing multiple applications.
Requirements
Knowledge of processing state department license (SDL) shipments required. Must have a working knowledge of software applications, such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and O365. Advanced working knowledge/proficiency with International Applications ex. CIM/AMS, CCII,K2. Ability to successfully complete all basic and recurrency training. Advanced knowledge of Int’l Doc Retention and Policy to prevent Fines. Good human relations and communication skills.
Qualifications
Eighteen (18) months of experience in the international documentation agent (IDA) job classification.
