Key job responsibilities
- Invent, design, and implement engineering solutions to complex material flow/transformation and human/machine efficiency problems throughout the global Amazon supply chain.
- Lead and coordinate design and innovation efforts to develop optimal solutions for the transportation network through equipment specification, material flow, process design, site layout, and intellectual property considerations.
- Collaboration with internal teams and external vendors to generate high quality, cost effective solutions in very short periods of time.
- Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.
- Provide technical leadership for large-scale engineering projects.

About the team

This role demands strategic thinking at both macro levels (understanding network-wide ripple effects) and micro levels (mastering operational intricacies). You'll earn trust across senior stakeholders, dive deep into complex data to drive high-stakes decisions, and own outcomes that transform how Amazon operates. Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of Design/Innovation, research & development, manufacturing, process, industrial engineering, or related experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent
- Experience in logistics
- Experience in management of engineering design projects
- Experience using business or technical software like MS Excel, MS Project, and CAD software
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive technology implementation, or 5+ years of senior leadership experience
- Master's degree in Engineering (any domain), Operations, Business Administration, or a related field
- Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems and high-speed manufacturing
- Experience with financial analysis and modeling
