About the Role
We are seeking a talented Sr. Infrastructure Platform Engineer – Data Center to join our Data Center Services team in Newport Beach, CA. This on-site role is responsible for the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and monitoring of our data center infrastructure across various locations, ensuring reliability, availability, and performance.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, maintain, and monitor global data center environments to ensure physical infrastructure remains secure, available, reliable, and performant.
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable IT infrastructure solutions across multiple regions.
- Design, deploy, and manage scalable and secure Windows Server-based systems across data centers and cloud environments globally.
- Design, deploy, and maintain rack and cabinet layouts, structured cabling, labeling standards, rack elevations, equipment placement, and cable management across multiple regions.
- Install, move, and decommission data center hardware, including rack-and-stack activities, physical infrastructure project support, and end-of-life clean-up.
- Provide escalation support for complex rack, cabling, power, cooling, and environmental issues, coordinating with operations, facilities, security, and vendor partners.
- Provide escalation support for complex server issues, collaborating with operations and support teams.
- Partner with Facilities and electrical/mechanical vendors to support power distribution, UPS, ATS, generator, cooling, airflow, and redundancy requirements.
- Define, communicate, and enforce global data center standards, safety practices, hardening guidelines, and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with Systems, Network, Storage, Facilities, Security, and vendor teams to plan and execute infrastructure deployments globally.
- Develop and maintain accurate documentation, rack elevation diagrams, cable schedules, capacity tracking tools, procedures, and operational records.
- Participate in automation, Infrastructure as Code, monitoring, and process modernization efforts.
- Support capacity planning, performance optimization, monitoring, backup readiness, maintenance activities, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote safe, standardized, and disciplined execution of physical infrastructure work.
- Stay current with data center technologies, industry practices, and operational trends.
- Participate in the on-call rotation and provide 24/7 support for data center operations as required.
Qualifications
- BS degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of working in Data Center Operations for multiple locations.
- Expertise in data center infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, power/cooling systems, virtualization, and hyper-converged infrastructure.
- Experience with monitoring and management tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, Grafana).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a global team.
Pay
The base pay range for this role is $167,670.00 - $204,930.00. Actual compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, and geographic location. Most employees are also eligible for additional incentive pay.
