Sr. Infrastructure DBA
About the role
Maintains the day-to-day operations of production and non-production database systems to ensure they operate smoothly across all environments. Manages space administration within the database and at the operating system level to ensure optimal performance and minimal disruptions. Supports performance tuning, backup and recovery strategies, patch management, database refreshes, and other tasks as required.
Responsibilities
- Supports databases exceeding 30TB in size, utilizing Oracle DBA and SQL expertise including experience with Exadata, RMAN, Active Data Guard, RAC, OEM on a 19c or higher platform.
- Tradeskills with scripting languages like BASH, KSH, PowerShell, or Python, and has extensive experience with active data guard, RMAN, and RAC.
- Experience with Exadata database platforms and both OLTP and Data Warehouse environments.
- Willingness to work in a 24x7 on-call rotation to support VLDB OLTP platforms of 50TB or greater.
- Works independently and collaboratively with various teams to resolve database system issues.
- Communicates effectively with end-users and customers to gather and formalize requirements.
Requirements
8+ years of Oracle DBA experience supporting databases > 30TB. Expertise in scripting languages such as BASH, KSH, PowerShell, or Python. Proficient in active data guard, RMAN, and RAC. Experience with Exadata database platforms and both OLTP and Data Warehouse environments. Ability to work autonomously and with multiple teams to triage database system issues. Excellent communication skills with the ability to solicit and formalize requirements and work with end users/customers. Dynamic and adaptable to semi-structured environments where requirements and priorities are constantly changing.
Qualifications
Experience with Exadata Cloud@Customer, agile development methodologies, Data Domain, Rubrik, and the insurance industry, specifically with the health care sector.
