Sr. Infection Preventionist
About the role
Adventist Health White Memorial is seeking a Senior Infection Preventionist for a full-time position working 8-hour day shifts. The role is based in Los Angeles, CA.
Responsibilities
- Assists in the implementation of the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Program to ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Serve as a liaison and resource for management of IPC activities and facilitate systems to collaborate with clinical and non-clinical departments to reduce healthcare-associated infections (HAI).
- Collaborates with IP Manager to align IPC program goals with organizational goals.
- Serves as an infection prevention resource for clinical and non-clinical staff.
- Supports the manager in implementation of IP plan to ensure successful integration of infection prevention program facility-wide.
- Utilizes HAI surveillance data to perform analysis, identify gaps, opportunities for improvement.
- Develops and maintains HAI line lists to assist in common cause analysis and corrective action follow-up.
- Aids in outbreak investigation and response.
- Conducts infection prevention rounds facility wide in alignment with IP goals and provides education to healthcare personnel; communicates findings and recommendations.
- Provides new hire orientation to associates regarding IPC and assists IP manager in annual and additional education, as needed.
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives as directed by IP Manager.
- Aids IP Manager in assessing compliance with Infection Control Accreditation Standards, Centers for Medicaid/Medicare (CMS) Infection Control Conditions of Participation and other state and federal regulations pertaining to Infection prevention and control.
- Collaborates with other departments to promote infection prevention and improved outcomes.
Requirements
- Education and Work Experience: Associate's degree in Nursing, Public Health, or related field; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Preferred: Minimum two (2) years of healthcare experience, including minimum one (1) year in infection prevention.
- Licenses/Certifications: Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC).
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Healthcare Management or health science related field.
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

The estimated base pay for this position is $114,359 to $171,538. Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
