Sr. Impact Project Manager – B Corp Certification (Temp)

What You'll Do
The Vita Coco Company is seeking an experienced Impact Project Manager to support their upcoming B Corp recertification process and broader impact strategy initiatives. This role will assist in assessing, strengthening, and implementing systems, policies, and governance structures required under the latest B Corp standards.
How You’ll Do It
B Corp Gap Assessment & Strategy: Conduct a comprehensive assessment of Vita Coco's governance structures, policies, systems, and practices against the latest B Corp standards. Identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities across applicable impact topics. Develop recommendations, implementation plans, and prioritization frameworks to address identified gaps.
Project Management & Implementation: Support in the development and maintenance of detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, and accountability trackers. Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders across departmental teams. Drive execution of approved action plans and monitor progress toward recertification requirements. Facilitate working sessions, stakeholder meetings, and status updates. Collect, coordinate, and verify both qualitative and quantitative data from internal department owners.
Advisory & Technical Support: Serve as a trusted advisor on B Corp-related projects and best practices. Provide guidance on governance, impact measurement, policies, documentation, and management systems. Support development or enhancement of policies, procedures, and governance frameworks where needed. Research emerging B Corp requirements and peer company practices.
Certification Management: Support preparation, organization, and submission of documentation required throughout the recertification process including relationships with certifying bodies, partners, and advisors. Manage requests, deadlines, and communications associated with the certification review. Help ensure audit readiness and maintain organized project records. Identify risks to certification timelines and propose mitigation strategies.
Required
6+ years of experience in project management, sustainability, ESG, social impact, corporate responsibility, corporate governance, or related fields.
Direct experience with B Corp certification, recertification, or B Impact Assessment processes.
Demonstrated experience managing complex, cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and drive projects forward in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
PREFERRED
Experience with Version 7 B Corp certification.
Experience in food and beverage production or consumer packaged goods.
Experience with sustainability reporting, ESG programs, or impact strategy implementation.
Familiarity with corporate governance frameworks, stakeholder engagement, and impact measurement.
Experience integrating newly acquired business units or entities into ESG strategies and certification.
Working experience with public company filings or regulatory-adjacent reporting.
Consulting experience supporting organizational change or sustainability transformation initiatives.
Key Deliverables (6-12 Month Contract)
Comprehensive B Corp gap assessment and readiness review.
Prioritized roadmap of actions required for recertification.
Cross-functional implementation plan with owners, milestones, and timelines.
Development or enhancement of key policies, governance processes, and supporting documentation.
Ongoing project management and coordination across recertification workstreams.
Support throughout the certification review process through submission and evaluation stages.
