Sr. ICT Engineer, Colo Regional Engineering - AMER
About the role
The ICT Colo Regional Engineer plays a crucial role in the design, planning, delivery, and operation of critical communication pathways within AWS data centers. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement innovative solutions that enhance infrastructure quality, reduce costs, and expedite project timelines.
Responsibilities
- Ensure timely delivery of scalable fiber optic & copper plant designs and specifications.
- Review and approve ICT pathway, cable and equipment submittals.
- Identify and respond to risks and high-priority issues rapidly and effectively.
- Support new technology and design activities that improve infrastructure quality, reduce cost and installation time.
- Travel 40% to review projects and coordinate with onsite personnel and contractors at AWS' Data Centers.
Requirements
- Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Experience in data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance.
- Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities.
- 10+ years Information and Communications Technology (ICT) design experience in Mission Critical Environments.
- 5+ years of experience developing design documentation (plans, specifications, etc.) for construction and/or permitting.
- 5+ years of working experience with fiber optic components, cabling, and interconnect products, technologies, and standards.
- BICSI RCDD Certification or internationally recognized equivalent (e.g. CDCDP, DCDC, etc.).
- Professional Engineering (PE) Electrical License.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region.
- Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production.
- Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Experience working with coloration facilities to develop construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience in Revit, AutoCAD or other Computer Aided Design Tools.
Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, and other relevant software tools is beneficial. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively are essential.

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $136,600.00 - $184,800.00 annually, depending on experience and location.
Schedule
Full-time position with a flexible schedule to accommodate travel and project demands.
