Sr IBM Master Data Management & Integration Develo

Senior IBM Master Data Management (MDM) & Integration Developer supporting the Master Person Index (MPI), Michigan Index Data Stewardship Portal, and Symmetry applications within the Technology and Database area. This role is critical for maintaining data integrity, SEM/SUITE compliance, and securing applications while streamlining business processes.

Responsibilities

• Write high-level functional requirement documents.
• Develop scripts in PowerShell and work in Linux operating systems.
• Use Git and GitHub for version control and repositories.
• Collaborate with Database Administrators to develop and execute SQL scripts.
• Create monthly reports for MDM applications.
• Resolve tasks and tickets in MPI and MIDSP with clients.
• Create and deploy certificates on Windows and Linux systems.
• Work with Infrastructure teams (Server, Network) for maintenance and issue resolution.
• Execute the full software development life cycle (SDLC), including gathering requirements and writing functional/technical specifications for complex projects.
• Develop prototypes, mockups, flowcharts, screen layouts, and documentation for user review and approval.
• Assist with Enterprise Architecture Solution Assessment (EASA), Hosting documents, and Firewall Rules.
• Design, develop, and implement test plans and test reports for applications or subsystems.
• Create or collect test data and execute approved tests to validate program logic.
• Assist with UAT Testing, test cases, and Post Implementation testing.
• Provide defect and incident tracking information.
• Assist with Request for Change (RFC) implementations (application and infrastructure changes).
• Maintain and update system documentation following system upgrades.
• Monitor applications in production and non-production environments.
• Provide application support for business client applications maintained by DTMB.
• Deliver products and services based on core software development concepts.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software development experience supporting enterprise-scale systems.
• Strong hands-on experience with IBM InfoSphere MDM v14.x Standard Edition (Virtual MDM), including MDM data models, entities, transactions, batch processing, configuration, customization, and troubleshooting.
• 8+ years of Java/J2EE experience, including Java, JSP, and REST/SOAP-based services, with strong production troubleshooting skills.
• 5+ years of experience working with Linux/Unix operating systems, including command-line usage, log analysis, and system-level troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, including topic creation, producer/consumer development, message flow troubleshooting, and understanding of Zookeeper and Kafka KRaft concepts using Strimzi operator.
• Experience with batch processing using WildFly and Kafka.
• Experience working with application servers such as WildFly, including deployments, startup, configuration, health checks, and runtime issue resolution.
• Experience integrating Kafka with WildFly-based applications and IBM MDM Standard Edition.
• Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries in Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server environments.
• Strong Linux/Unix shell scripting skills (Bash), including automation and operational scripting.
• Experience creating, scheduling, and maintaining CRON jobs for batch and scheduled processes.

Preferred Skills

• Healthcare experience.
• Strong understanding of MDM concepts and IBM MDM product capabilities.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Azure Git Repo, or similar tools.
• Experience deploying and supporting applications in cloud and OCP containerized environments.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Azure.
• Exposure to OpenShift and Kubernetes.
• Experience with ELK/Elastic Stack for log monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Flowable (strong plus).
• Ability to independently own, maintain, and support complex systems with minimal external dependency.
