About the role

The Senior HR Business Partner provides strategic and operational HR support for assigned cement plant locations. This role serves as a trusted advisor and primary HR point of contact for site leadership across multiple sites across the US and Canada. The Senior HRBP is responsible for the full spectrum of HR operations, including employee and labor relations, talent acquisition, talent management, performance management, training administration, policy compliance, and people analytics. The Senior HRBP mentors HR Business Partners at assigned locations and drives consistent, high-quality delivery of HR services aligned with company objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with plant and operations leaders to deliver strategic HR programs aligned with business needs across the full employment lifecycle
  • Provides subject matter expertise in leadership, organizational effectiveness, org structure, and human capital processes to drive sustainable business results
  • Mentors and provides day-to-day guidance to HR Business Partners at assigned plant locations
  • Oversees and manages employee and labor relations issues, including terminations, performance management, complaints, and disciplinary actions
  • Supports and manages union contract negotiations/interpretations, grievances, and arbitration with guidance from the HR leadership and Labor Relations team
  • Investigates and documents employee complaints (ADR) and participates in EEOC and complaint meetings as required
  • Manages internal and external recruiting activities for assigned plant openings
  • Covers onboarding, orientation, and new hire integration for plant employees
  • Provides education and coaching on performance management throughout the review process
  • Analyze workforce metrics (turnover, engagement, attrition) and recommend action plans to leadership
  • Reviews and approves all personnel changes, including salary/position changes, new hires, and separations
  • Supports employee separation documentation and conducts exit interviews to identify trends
  • Supports talent review, succession planning, and individual development planning
  • Collaborates with the Learning & Development team to coordinate and deliver required HR training
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies
  • Promotes and follows all aspects of safety guidelines and is a constant advocate for all safety programs and initiatives

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 Year / Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Preferred SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP
  • Minimum of 5 Years of Experience
  • Maintain confidentiality of all employee information and HR records at all times
  • Ability to work onsite at assigned locations in an industrial/manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and build strong relationships at all levels across functions and/or sites
  • Strong knowledge of employment and labor law; experience with union environments preferred
  • Ability to maintain confidential information with discretion
  • Proficient in HRIS systems; experience with UKG or similar HCM platforms preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels
  • Ability to coach and develop more junior HR professionals
  • Ability to analyze HR data and people metrics to inform decisions and translate into actionable recommendations
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities across multiple sites
  • Knowledge of talent management, succession planning, and workforce development

Qualifications

Pay

Compensation: $125,100 - $152,900
Eligible for yearly bonus
Potential for Geographic Differential
