About the role
The Senior Human Factors Engineer plays a crucial role in the development of innovative surgical technologies at Intuitive. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, they ensure that products are both feasible and desirable, focusing on user-centered design and rigorous usability testing.
Responsibilities
- Support lab-based testing and bench experiments
- Conduct user-centered design research and usability testing
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and refine product designs
- Represent Intuitive during interactions with clinicians and customers
- Manage usability engineering activities and provide reports to stakeholders
- Translate research findings into actionable insights for design and development
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 6 years and a master’s degree, or equivalent experience in human factors/biomedical devices
- BS in Human Factors Engineering, Cognitive Psychology, Computer Science with HCI emphasis, Human Centered Design, or related field
- MS strongly preferred
- Experience in medical device or similar highly regulated industry
- Ability to conduct user research and traditional/rapid cycle product evaluations
- Proficiency in data collection tools and analysis software
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: BS in Human Factors Engineering, Cognitive Psychology, Computer Science with HCI emphasis, Human Centered Design, or related field. MS strongly preferred.
- Required Skills: User research, product evaluation, data analysis, communication, collaboration, and compliance with export regulations.

Pay
Base Salary Range: $145,000 - $208,600 (Region 2)
Schedule
This role is full-time and requires regular attendance at the workplace.
