About the Team
The HSSE team is responsible for maintaining environmental and safety compliance throughout the facility through program development, training, auditing, and driving continuous improvement. This position provides technical and regulatory expertise to support daily HSSE functions by ensuring HSSE programs reduce risks, eliminate hazards and accidents, and are performed in accordance with all external regulatory requirements and internal HSSE management guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Implement HSSE policies and programs throughout the facility through program development, training, auditing, and driving continuous improvement.
- Maintain working knowledge of federal, state, and local health, safety, security, and environmental regulations (HSSE).
- Prepare routine health, safety, security, and environmental reports, permit applications, inventories, and surveys including data acquisition, documentation, recordkeeping, monitoring, review, approval, and submittal to regulatory agencies.
- Conduct facility HSSE audits and drive continuous improvement to reduce risks and hazards.
- Educate site employees on health, safety, security, and environmental safety policies and practices by developing safety/environmental communications (e.g., postings, employee meeting notices, minutes, awareness).
- Work with suppliers/vendors on cost-effective solutions for health, safety, security, and environmental supplies.
- Perform ERIS reporting and provide other site/divisional/NAO required information, including site-specific Key Performance Indicators.
- Develop HSSE programs, policies, procedures, and training modules to meet regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Safety, Environmental or Natural Sciences, or other technical field OR Associate's Degree with any additional safety-type certifications.
- 6+ years of related experience.
- Proven knowledge of OSHA, SCDHEC, EPA Regulations, and all regulatory compliance.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
- Proficient computer skills, strong MS Office (Excel) knowledge.
