About the role
The Senior Health, Safety and Environmental Analyst develops, maintains, and governs enterprise safety, environmental, hazardous materials, and regulatory compliance programs that support Ace Hardware Retail Support Centers and cross-dock operations. This role serves as a subject matter expert for safety and environmental compliance, translating complex regulatory requirements into practical programs for the business. You will also own the administration, data integrity, and analysis of the safety and incident reporting platform, supporting regulatory compliance, risk reduction, leadership visibility, and continuous improvement across Retail Support operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide oversight for safety, environmental, hazardous materials, and related regulatory compliance programs
- Manage hazardous materials transportation processes for domestic and international shipments
- Support hazardous waste, used oil, universal waste, spill prevention, permitting, and environmental reporting programs
- Administer the enterprise safety and incident reporting platform, including user access, system governance, and reporting
- Develop safety analytics, dashboards, key performance indicators, and trend reporting for leadership
- Ensure timely and accurate Occupational Safety and Health Administration recordkeeping and reporting
- Oversee hazardous chemical storage, handling, and slotting standards in partnership with internal teams
- Develop and maintain Retail Support facilities licensing processes with Legal and regulatory agencies
- Create and deliver training related to hazardous materials, safety compliance, environmental programs, and system usage
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, engineering, occupational health, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing hazardous chemical storage, transportation, or disposal programs
- Strong knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Department of Transportation (DOT), International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG), and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements
- Experience with safety incident management systems, reporting, and data governance
- Ability to develop reports, dashboards, scorecards, and trend analysis
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to interpret regulations and develop scalable implementation plans
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 30 percent
Preferred Skills
- Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) certification
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher
- Experience in warehousing or retail support environments
Pay
$88,400 - $110,700 per year
