Sr. Hardware Development Engineer, Hardware Engineering Services

AWS Hardware Engineering is a leading-edge product development team that creates enterprise compute and storage server designs for our innovative web service and e-commerce technology platforms. Our designs are industry-leading in terms of performance, frugality, and operational excellence, and are critical to the success of the AWS business and the hundreds of thousands of customers who use utility computing today.
Responsibilities
- Design of rack sub-systems and associated components (frame, rails, chassis, air dams, seismic brackets, stabilizers, blanking panels)
- Validate subsystems and components meet NPI program requirements
- Participate in the cross-discipline design process working with other HW and SW team members to develop optimized integrated solutions
- Conduct failure analysis and solution validation
- Manage interaction with overseas resources
- Provide mentorship and technical reviews to a team of mechanical/thermal design engineers
Requirements
- Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures
- Experience in server technologies such as, thermal, mechanical, power, and signal integrity
- Experience in compute and storage server architecture and design for large scale applications
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in mechanical design for server technologies or Data Center applications
