About the role

The Gear Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and producing high-performance gear systems for Amazon’s robotic platforms. This role requires expertise in various types of gear mechanisms and experience managing external vendors and co-design partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze gear systems for robotic platforms
• Manage external vendors and contract design partners for gear components
• Use gear design software (KISSsoft, MASTA, ROMAX, etc.)
• Bring precision gear systems from concept through volume manufacturing
• Collaborate in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent
• Experience in gear mechanism design and analysis for robotics, automation, or precision machinery
• Experience managing external vendors and co-design partnerships for gear components
• Experience with gear design software (KISSsoft, MASTA, ROMAX, or equivalent)

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on gear/power transmission systems
• Experience designing compact, high-torque-density gear trains for robotics or aerospace applications
• Familiarity with AGMA/ISO gear standards and rating methods

Pay

Base salary range: $137,300.00 - $185,700.00 USD annually
