Sr Full Stack Software Engineer
This position is remote but requires you to reside in one of the following locations: Chicago, IL, DC/Baltimore Metro area, Louisville, KY, or Dallas/Frisco, TX.
About the role
The Sr Full Stack Software Engineer is responsible for producing scalable software solutions utilizing a range of technologies and languages (such as Java, JavaScript, HTML, PHP, C#) to develop applications approaching software holistically to cater to both user experience and functionality. Work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
This role influences the department’s strategy and makes decisions on moderately complex to complex technical approaches for project components with considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches. The Sr Full Stack Engineer is involved in all stages of software development, including front-end development, back-end development, database integrations, network and hosting management, user interface, user experience, and back-end server management.
Responsibilities
- Work with a team of developers with deep experience in frontend technologies, distributed microservices, and full stack systems.
- Work across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full-stack development tools and technologies.
- Work with cloud native stack, build on Azure, AWS, or Google, and use technologies like Kubernetes.
- Write effective REST APIs and technical documentation.
- Write automated test cases to ensure correctness, responsiveness, and efficiency of the software product.
- Provide expertise to influence project, initiative, and maintenance technical direction during discovery, planning, and implementation stages.
- Maintain modern development standards with best-practice approaches and development processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a combination of education and relevant IT experience.
- 4+ years' experience in Python programming.
- 4+ years' experience in software engineering.
- 2+ years' experience in at least one of the following: Angular, React, or Vue.js.
- 2+ years' experience in at least one of the following: Java or Node.js.
- At least 1 year of experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP, or another cloud service.
- At least 1 year of experience in building micro frontends and/or microservices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree.
- Advanced experience in Microsoft Azure.
- Experience in building Domain-Driven Microservices.
- Advanced experience in building software with Cloud native technologies.
- Experience in SASS, W3C Web Standards, Web performance, and Cross-browser compatibility.
- Advanced understanding of web modular design patterns.
- Content Management (advanced experience and best practices).
Work-at-Home Requirements
- Self-provided internet service must meet the following criteria: at minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps; wireless, wired cable, or DSL connection is suggested. Satellite, cellular, and microwave connections may be used only if approved by leadership.
- Associates who live and work from home in California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will receive a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
- Humana will provide telephone equipment appropriate to meet business requirements for the position.
- Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI/HIPAA information.
While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $106,900 - $147,000 per year. This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on company and/or individual performance.
Schedule
Scheduled weekly hours: 40.
