Sr Financial Analyst
About the Role
The Financial Analyst III is a key contributor in modeling business scenarios and metrics used to make strategic company decisions. This role involves reviewing the work of others, leading and mentoring team members, and owning projects from start to finish. The position requires analyzing detailed information and presenting concise insights, often with little guidance. Assignments are of greater difficulty or larger financial impact than those given to junior analysts, with an emphasis on developing skills for a future management role.
Responsibilities

Prepare reports as needed, research and report on variances (especially complex ones), and mentor others on the process. Summarize findings for various stakeholders and propose new ways to analyze and visually present results.
- Own and administer the budgeting, planning, and forecasting processes, often leading supporting team members. Develop reasonable assumptions based on company and macroeconomic conditions, produce aligned results, and document assumptions and variances clearly. Apply feedback and revisions promptly.
- Own and administer the operating and capital budget processes, leading discussions with Retail Operations and Headquarters stakeholders. Summarize results, compare them to plans and metrics, and review for reasonableness. Identify and implement workflow and process improvements.
- Support company-wide initiatives by independently framing, preparing, and summarizing ad-hoc financial and scenario-based analyses. Validate inputs and assumptions, develop presentations for executive management, and evaluate the effectiveness of strategic decisions using metrics like cost-benefit analysis, ROI, NPV, and IRR.
- Stay current on macroeconomic conditions and industry trends, applying this knowledge to forecasting, budgeting, and analysis. Identify emerging opportunities and risks, and monitor company KPIs in relation to industry and competitor metrics.
