Sr. Financial Analyst
This role can be based either in our Palo Alto, CA office or remotely in the US.
About the role
This position will support multiple programs, for whom you will manage and oversee day-to-day financial planning processes, including weekly/monthly reporting and other program needs. The Program Finance team works closely with the Program Managers, CFO, and senior executives to plan the business and allocate budget and resources to the company's satellite programs and other strategic R&D initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Work with Program Managers and CAMs to oversee all spend, including cost of sales, R&D expenses, and capital expenditures as they pertain to the programs.
- Perform monthly variance analysis for these costs, using this analysis to identify program risk and opportunities.
- Review weekly labor and non-labor expenses and provide metrics to the program team. Track monthly spend against forecasts highlighting issues.
- Help CAMs to find trade-offs to keep spend within budget.
- Provide cost analysis in support of contract change orders for assigned programs.
- Lead monthly reviews for program financial forecasting to create and maintain accurate forecasts.
- Support Lanteris Space Systems' Annual Operating Plan (AOP) processes and monthly/quarterly financial cycles.
- Provide ad hoc financial modeling and financial analysis.
- Support special projects and process improvements within Finance.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics; four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of overall experience, with at least 4 years in a Financial Analyst role.
Skills
- Experience with SAP, Tableau, or Alteryx.
- Superior analytical skills, combined with excellent business judgment and strong ability to clearly and concisely communicate with management-level personnel.
- Master-level skills with Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Active team player who works well under pressure.
- Organized, detail-oriented individual with the ability to multi-task and maintain accuracy of information.

Pay
The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.
- Colorado: $76,000.00 - $126,000.00 annually
- New Jersey: $76,000.00 - $126,000.00 annually
- Delaware: $76,000.00 - $126,000.00 annually
- Washington, DC metropolitan area: $83,000.00 - $139,000.00 annually
- California: $87,000.00 - $145,000.00 annually
- All other states: Geographic cost of labor is used to develop market-driven ranges.
