Company Description The Asset Management Office, within the Finance Division, serves the University of Georgia by providing support with policies, standards and guidelines for the effective management of tangible, movable equipment in the custody of the University. By using the Asset Management module within UGA Financial Management and procedures such as the annual physical inventory, the Asset Management Office partners with the University community to ensure all tangible property is utilized, tracked and disposed of in an efficient and effective manner. Role Description This professional position is responsible for the accounting & financial reporting tasks related to UGA owned, leased, capitalized and inventoried assets. This position analyzes documentation & transactions from Accounts Payable and other sources so that required transactions for capital assets (fixed, movable, leased, etc) are identified and recorded into UGA Financial Management/Asset Management. This position is also responsible for working with the Georgia State Financing and Investment Commission (GSFIC) to submit reimbursement requests for capital project related expenses. QualificationsKnowledge of governmental accounting. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2 years of professional experience.
