Sr. Field Survey Tech - Remote (USA)

About the role

First American Commercial Due Diligence Services (CDS) is a division of The First American Corporation, a Fortune 500 company. The role involves measuring and mapping the Earth's surface, selecting known survey reference points, determining precise locations of features, researching legal records, and analyzing data to establish boundary lines.

Responsibilities

• Taking and delivering quality field notes for drafter and Surveyor accuracy.
• Operating and adjusting surveying instruments such as Robotic total station and GPS receiver.
• Compiling notes, making sketches, importing/exporting data from data collectors, and uploading for LS review.
• Acting as the primary point of contact for all on-site clients, coordinating and scheduling field visits, and handling any issues that arise during surveys.
• Scheduling all field visits, routes, equipment, vehicles, and job information with the licensed surveyor.
• Experience with Lieca, Trimble, Topcon, etc.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of GPS and robotic systems.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to research survey-related documents through public access and the internet.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean DMV record.
• +75% travel required.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Based in major markets such as Tampa or Orlando (FL), Dallas–Fort Worth or Houston (TX), Atlanta (GA), or Nashville (TN).
