About the Role
Raytheon’s Field Engineering team is seeking a Senior Field IT Radar Specialist to support the Air and Missile Defense Radar (AMDR) program. This role involves onsite activities including hardware and software integration, test, verification, troubleshooting, repair, and operations of an advanced radar system. The position is based in Moorestown, NJ, with potential travel to offsite CONUS locations, including extended travel and varied shifts (1st, 2nd, and 3rd).
Responsibilities
- Support radar operations, integration, and testing.
- Operate the radar in support of integration and test activities.
- Document issues and support system troubleshooting of software and hardware.
- Interface with Technical SMEs to resolve issues and troubleshoot.
- Support hardware installations and activations as needed.
- Perform software installation (Builds/Overlays).
- Perform data transfers and archiving to and from classified networks.
- Review, generate, and maintain reports, logs, and documentation.
- Support all site activities as directed by the Site and Integration Lead.
- Operate and maintain site-specific instruments and test equipment for system operations.
- Travel (up to 10%) to support mission execution at various locations, including RTX facilities, test sites, vendor facilities, and customer locations.
- Support shipboard testing at sea.
- Conduct system-level testing of the SPY-6(V)1 with BL10 Aegis Weapon System.
- Maintain configuration of the SPY-6(V)1 system.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field with a minimum of 3 years’ experience.
- Active and transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance (Secret) required prior to start date.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Experience with Redhat X86 servers, IT networking, and/or Linux/UNIX.
- Experience conducting troubleshooting and support resolution of system issues.
- Experience working with drawings, schematics, diagrams, procedures, and technical documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a diverse team.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, especially OneNote.
- Experience with radar system operations, maintenance, and performance analysis.
- Experience with MATLAB.
- Prior experience operating and maintaining the SPY-6(V)1 radar system.
- Shipyard and/or shipboard experience with the ability to interface with Navy customers, contractors, and government personnel.
Pay
The salary range for this role is $86,800 – $165,200 USD.
