About the role

The Sr. Family Support Specialist role is a unique opportunity to work directly with families to make a real difference in their lives and our community.

Responsibilities

  • Interview, enroll, and certify families for CalWORKs and/or CAPP Child Care Program
  • Interview scheduled and drop-in appointments/complete necessary re-certifications
  • Conduct group intake appointments as needed
  • Respond to and resolve parent and provider issues
  • Maintain and update family, child and program files
  • Provide quality customer service for internal and external agency customers
  • Provide mentorship to new or developing team members
  • Input data into the computer system in an accurate and timely manner
  • Respond to requests for information from the public
  • Travel to co-locations and satellite Hively offices as needed
  • Attend all training/technical assistance workshops
  • Attend all staff meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social services/human development or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 2 years of experience in Childcare Subsidy Programs (CAPP, CalWORKS)
  • Proficient in one or more program and regulations
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Office software and Google Suite
  • Knowledge of all aspects of business office procedures
  • Effective communication skills both orally and in writing
  • Basic math skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Able to appear for work on time
  • Able to follow directions
  • Able to understand and follow posted work rules and procedures
  • Flexibility to work from other office locations as required

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Fluent in English and one or more of the following languages (Spanish, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Farsi, Korean, Pashto, Urdu, Punjabi or Hindi)

Pay

Note: Final employment offer will be determined based upon factors including but not limited to an applicant's experience, specialized skills, and internal alignment.

Schedule

This role is eligible for a Hybrid schedule after completing training period.
