Accountabilities
- Perform a broad range of commercial building maintenance tasks independently, including troubleshooting, repairs, installations, and preventative maintenance.
- Oversee physical security teams, promote strong performance, and support effective team collaboration.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to complete technical projects.
- Install and maintain electrical wiring, telephone lines, coaxial cables, lighting systems, and related equipment.
- Maintain and repair building systems, including HVAC equipment, plumbing fixtures, electrical components, doors, appliances, ceiling systems, and general infrastructure.
- Conduct inspections of life safety systems, including fire alarms, sprinkler systems, and emergency equipment.
- Complete general construction and repair work, including drywall, painting, laminate repairs, concrete work, and facility improvements.
- Maintain equipment inventories and create accurate service documentation for facility systems and assets.
- Respond to after-hours emergency calls and participate in on-call support for incident response activities.
- Cook up with maintenance activities with external vendors, contractors, and property management partners.
- Cook up projects, provide guidance to facilities technicians, and support team development through knowledge sharing and training.
- Provide regular updates on assignments, attend team meetings, and contribute to a collaborative workplace culture.
Requirements
- The ideal candidate is an experienced facilities professional with strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- 7+ years of experience performing commercial, high-rise, or large campus building maintenance.
- Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general facility operations.
- Experience using maintenance tools, equipment, and diagnostic techniques.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Experience leading projects, coordinating teams, and overseeing vendors or contractors.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and work independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
- Able to work effectively in a team environment and maintain positive working relationships.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid driver’s license with a strong driving record, reliable transportation, and required vehicle insurance.
- HVAC certification preferred.
- Electrical certification preferred.
- Able to safely perform physical work, including lifting up to 50 lbs., pushing equipment, climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, and performing outdoor maintenance activities.
