This hands-on role involves fixing, building, and problem-solving as priorities shift. You’ll work across Texas and California, managing maintenance, repairs, construction, equipment setup, and vendor coordination—from designing large-scale spaces to assembling furniture or troubleshooting lab equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and coordinate day-to-day facilities maintenance and repairs across office, lab, and production areas.
  • Troubleshoot and fix issues with building systems, equipment, fixtures, and infrastructure.
  • Support lab and R&D teams with equipment moves, setups, and facility needs.
  • Coordinate and escort vendors/contractors for specialized work.
  • Identify and resolve problems early to prevent escalation.
  • Maintain safe, organized, and operational facilities.
  • Assist with urgent one-off projects as needed.

Requirements

  • BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or Structural Engineering.
  • 5+ years managing large-scale ground-up or retrofit construction projects, preferably in industrial/manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with safety practices and facility compliance.
  • Experience with HVAC, MEP systems, or process equipment.
  • Ownership of general maintenance across electrical, mechanical, and building systems.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Work experience in active labs or light industrial environments.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% to various work sites.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in semiconductor, hardware, lab, or manufacturing environments.
  • Experience supporting fast-growing or startup teams.
  • Hands-on work with HVAC, MEP systems, or process equipment.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Generous paid time off (holidays, sick leave).
  • Visa sponsorship.
  • Life and disability insurance.
  • Paid parental leave.
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Weekly learning and development opportunities.
  • Commuter benefits (parking, late-night Uber rides).
  • Daily lunches, dinners 3x/week, stocked office kitchen.

This role involves access to U.S. export-controlled technology; compliance is required.
