About the role
This position will report directly to the SCM manager. This individual will track, manage, and order through release to the customer.
Responsibilities
- Track, manage, and order through release to the customer.
- Interpret detailed information including purchase orders, packing slips, commercial invoices, export trade documents and invoices.
- Possess core job knowledge in purchasing and engineered equipment in an aftermarket environment.
- Use SAP or reports to expedite suppliers for on-time deliveries for assigned projects based on technical specifications.
- Care for expediting tasks for all placed purchase orders.
- Contact suppliers and update progress and expediting reports as needed.
- Confirm delivery schedules and address any delays.
- Maintain, follow-up, and control supplier contractual agreed dates.
- Issue regular expediting status reports as required.
- Visit suppliers to verify status of progress or review corrective actions.
- Initiate action to remedy situations within scope of authority.
- Confirm the warehouse personnel has the order and/or walks or calls order to the warehouse to initiate order process.
- Follow up with each department to ensure timely processing.
- Follow up Quality Assurance releases.
- Coordinate shipping with Logistics.
- Take positive steps in consultation with Engineering, Procurement, and Quality, when possible, to improve vendor performance as demanded by schedule.
Qualifications and Education
- Four-year bachelor’s degree
- Experience of minimum of 5 years in expediting
- Proficient with MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Proficient with SAP
- Proficiency in inventory management software
- Impeccable communication skills both written and verbally
