Sr. Estimator

About the role
This is a fully remote position based anywhere within the United States, supporting national and international operations. Candidates must be available to work during standard business hours, Monday through Friday, between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM in their local time zone.
Responsibilities
- Prepare complete quantity take-offs, ensuring all items incorporated in the assigned scopes are priced.
- Interpret project documents to prepare clear, complete, and competitive estimates, general conditions, and bids.
- Inform preconstruction staff of project requirements and owner directives, developing plans to meet stated goals.
- Manage multiple projects and value-engineer solutions to meet client budgetary needs.
- Identify qualified subcontractors and maintain bid solicitation lists.
- Attend preconstruction meetings with the design team and client on behalf of the firm.
- Fill design gaps with assumptions aligning with the design intent.
- Track costs at various stages of the project lifecycle.
- Prepare project clarifications and bid assumptions for submission to the owner.
- Investigate local market conditions and their effect on cost and constructability.
- Coordinate with company executives to support strategic planning efforts.
- Develop department protocols for best estimating practices.
- Attend technical and professional meetings and seminars as necessary.
- Establish timelines and estimating goals for effective and timely submittals.
- Represent company vision when presenting to potential clients, detailing Lemartec’s capabilities.
- Collaborate with Lemartec’s Building Systems on metal building pricing efforts.
- Ensure quality of services meets project requirements.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration on estimates between all disciplines and parties.
- Provide risk and cost comparison analysis on estimates.
- Experience with LEED AP and scheduling programs (Microsoft Project preferred).
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) and CAD/BIM experience preferred.
Requirements
- B.S. in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 10 years of estimating on construction projects.
- Minimum of 5 years estimating data center projects.
- 3 years experience working on design of data centers preferred.
- Understanding of contractual requirements, conceptual estimating, design drawings (P&ID, PFD), and project specifications.
- Proven experience in risk assessment analysis and estimating across multiple markets and geographic locations.

- Solid presentation and verbal/written communication skills.

- Hands-on experience in estimating and independently producing conceptual estimates.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Project scheduling and document control experience.
- Expertise in constructability, construction methods, materials, and economics.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, P6, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), and estimating software (SAGE/Timberline, On-Screen Take Off).
