About the Role
The Sr. ERP Developer will advance and fine-tune our Infor SyteLine v10.x enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. This role involves engaging with every phase of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to enhance and expand IEM’s Infor SyteLine implementation. Beyond system maintenance, you’ll create innovative solutions and new features, primarily through Infor Mongoose, VB.NET, C#, and SQL-based customizations. You’ll collaborate in a dynamic team environment, working alongside experienced professionals dedicated to fostering technical growth through mentorship and ongoing learning.
Responsibilities
- Engage in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including design, implementation, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance of systems.
- Gather, analyze, and document technical business requirements to drive development and enhancement of new and existing software functionalities.
- Develop and refine enhancements, add-ons, and reports specifically for Infor SyteLine v10.x.
- Maintain, support, and upgrade systems and applications, ensuring reliable performance and implementing necessary fixes.
- Collaborate with team members to conceptualize, design, and implement project solutions effectively.
- Conduct thorough testing of modifications and meticulously document programming activities and procedures.
- Provide exceptional support and assistance to end-users, enhancing user satisfaction and system usability.
- Design and document code conversions comprehensively, ensuring clarity and maintainability of code.
- Work closely with technical colleagues to produce high-quality code in Infor Mongoose, VB.NET, and C#, adhering to best practices in software development.
- Design, develop, and update business reports using SQL, SSRS, and Infor Reporting tools.
- Offer technical support and training to peers, enhancing team knowledge and capabilities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring minimal disruption during system conversions.
- Utilize the Microsoft 365 suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams) to support business processes and team collaboration.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of demonstrated expertise supporting end-users on Infor SyteLine-based solutions.
- Experience in SQL, including stored procedures, views, triggers, and database management using MS T-SQL.
- Experience with Infor Mongoose, MS .NET Framework, Visual Studio, and C#.
- Experience with upgrades from previous versions of Infor SyteLine to Infor SyteLine v10.x.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing and accounting principles.
- Ability to meticulously test, document, and write code changes and modifications with the end-user in mind.
- Experience with helpdesk and ticketing systems is desirable.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of gathering technical requirements and translating technical details into clear, user-friendly instructions.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and critical thinking skills, able to meet deadlines consistently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to design and implement databases and SQL-based software solutions.
- Experience with version control platforms such as GitHub.
- Experience with complex multi-site and multi-currency configurations.
- Experience with MRP, APS, and Scheduling.
- Familiarity with Lake Companies Doc-Trak, Infor Factory Track, and Seagull Scientific Bartender.
- Practical experience applying AI tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) to speed up ERP and SQL development, code review, and troubleshooting, with the judgment to validate output and keep it inside security and compliance guardrails.
Work Authorization and Location
This position is fully remote with minimal travel required to IEM facilities or conferences. Must be authorized to work in the United States. IEM does not sponsor employment visas for this position, now or in the future.
