Sr. ERP Business Analyst

About the role
The Senior ERP Business Analyst provides strategic business analysis services to business partners. The focus of this position is to work closely with the business units to gain an in-depth understanding of the customer's business strategies, processes, services, road maps, and the context in which the business operates. This role will be key to preparing and understanding the documentation needed to address business challenges.
The Senior ERP Business Analyst is responsible for reviewing and analyzing assigned business processes from end-to-end to identify and address operational, financial, and technological risks, as well as identifying opportunities to improve efficiency. Responsibilities will include a full range of activities from leading small to mid-size projects to assisting other project managers on larger, more complex projects related to operational business functions that affect overall production, team members, and associated providers.
Responsibilities

- Demonstrate up-to-date expertise in ERP systems and apply this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices.
- Provide project-level analysis producing the required project analysis documentation (business requirements, scope matrix, use cases, sequence diagrams, future state proposals, UAT plans, etc.).
- Define and communicate the requirements and ROI associated with the proposed solutions to the business audience.
- Analyze and synthesize business processes, including recognizing patterns and conceptualizing new ways of performing at a higher level.
- Relentlessly identify and call out improvement opportunities.
- Demonstrate fluency in business acumen, processes, and process differentiation.
- Collaborate closely with developers to understand and incorporate the needed requirements and provide necessary guidance to testers during the QA and UAT processes.
- Develop, execute, and analyze test plans and their results to ensure the appropriate goals of the project are being properly achieved.
- Support or run system updates, system testing, and system conversions.
- Identify ways to increase product adoption and customer satisfaction.
- Serve as a liaison between Operations and IT. Manage customer relationships and expectations by developing strong business relationships and communication practices to keep others up to date on project results.
- Negotiate and capture the needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders by clearly understanding the goals, creating and maintaining meeting minutes, issue logs, meeting schedules, project summaries, and properly cadenced updates.
- Provide leadership to team members and peers by collaborating with others; articulating ideas and viewpoints to senior management; initiating projects; managing resources; driving the resolution of issues; and holding self and team members accountable for results.
- Create and maintain project schedules by developing project plans and specifications, estimating time and resources, monitoring milestone completion, tracking all phases of the project lifecycle, providing timely reporting of issues that impact project progress, coordinating actions, and resolving conflicts.
- Stay engaged, current, and relevant with BRS customer needs and strategies as well as industry standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- B.S. in Computer Science or similar field or equivalent work experience.
- 5 years of experience in system design, enhancement, and implementation.
- 5 years of relevant work experience.
- 7+ years customer interfacing experience, project oversight, customer presentations.
- 10+ years’ experience as a business analyst; IIBA certification preferred.
- Experience working on large-scale projects as well as handling day-to-day operational requests from the business.
- Strong business analysis and project management experience; ability to successfully manage multiple tasks; strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- Experience with creating testing scenarios, managing, and executing testing.
- Able to build SOP documents for new functionality.
- Data analysis proficiency with SQL, Microsoft Excel.
- Nice to have: Power BI, SSRS, Tableau, or similar reporting tool.
- Strong verbal and written communication, technical understanding, problem-solving.
- Ability to demonstrate strong leadership, teamwork, client management, and business operations.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with J.D. Edwards World or other legacy ERP systems.
- Distribution, warehouse, retail, procurement, order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, inventory, or finance process experience.
- Familiarity with IBMi-based business applications and RPG-supported ERP environments.
- EDI business processes, including order, shipment, invoice, and acknowledgment flows.
- Preferred: Blue Yonder, JBA/E3, AWR, or other demand planning or forecasting applications.
- Preferred: Varsity Shipsoft or other shipping, routing, or logistics applications.
- Strong understanding of business, business processes, and process improvement.
- QA leadership or formal testing experience a plus.
- Strong understanding of distribution and logistics services a plus.
- Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in written form with both management and internal & external customers.
Pay
Salary Range: $112K - $120K annually depending upon education and experience.
